I will be in cairo in march, I would like to go to khartoun by bus or train. Does anyone know how I can do it? is it dangerous?

Hello!
In July I'm coming to Sudan to work in a hospital in Kahrtoum as an summer exchange medical student. Since I've never been here and information is so hard to get I would like to know how safe it is for foriners (european), ecpecially in the light of current ICC matterrs with president Bashir.
I would also like to know how safe travel to south (Juba) and west (Darfur) is. Information from someone who experienced all this would be or great value to me.

I have only a few days off to travel around Sudan.

I don't have idea where to go. I haven't been traveling much in Sudan
- as usuelly i'm based in Darfur. When in Khartoum i went only to Rifa and Wadi Madani.

I hope someone can help.

I am hopefully about to receive an invitation to a wedding and I would like to send a real reply rather than an e-mail but don't have an address for my friend.
